We're looking for a Video Encoding Specialist - someone who can help our customers create better video through tools, guides, recommendations, and hacking on video systems. This requires both technical and customer-facing work, and involves a mix of product development, sales engineering, and developer evangelism.
About You:

You know the ins and outs of video encoding. You know the difference between H.264 and MP4, ffmpeg and libav, and 24 and 23.976.

You're a developer who has worked with web service APIs in the past, probably using Ruby, Python, PHP, or maybe even Node.

You're extroverted and love talking to other geeks. You enjoy hackathons and conferences, and enjoy (some) travel.

You communicate well. You're comfortable blogging, speaking, and helping people out.
What you'll do:

Interact with the developer community. Attend meetups, hackathons, and conferences, and help evangelize Zencoder.

Improve Zencoder's video encoding processes - optimize settings, troubleshoot edge cases, etc.

Help customers optimize their video encoding settings and get familiar with our API.

Educate the world. Blog about video, build useful tools, improve docs, write guides.
Bonus points if:

You've committed to open source projects in the past.

You're deeply familiar with video encoding tools like ffmpeg or x264.
-
You have some experience with the professional/broadcast media world.

You've worked with Zencoder APIs before!
